Step 1 - Take Action
- Contact your bank1 Immediately
- Take notes when you speak with your bank1; date, time, name and ID# of person
- Request a list of documents required by your bank1 to complete a review of your file
- Open and keep all letters from your bank1, including envelopes
- This is the last Notice that you will receive before the “Trustee's Sale” of the property
Step 2 - Seek Assistance
- Don’t delay! Contact a HUD approved Housing Counselor– your success rate will increase and there are no fees for these services
- If you do not have a Housing Counselor contact Washington Homeownership Resource Center (WHRC) for a referral in your area

Step 3 - Housing Counseling
- Services:
- Identify possible workout options
- Review financial documentation
- Submit your documentation to your bank1
- Communicate with you and your bank1
- Only a Housing Counselor or an Attorney can request mediation on your behalf
Step 4 - Get Ready
- Gather your documents and complete bank1 required forms
- Provide documentation to your Housing Counselor to review and assemble
- Submit documents, your Housing Counselor will assist you
- Refresh documents every 30 days or as often as your Housing Counselor requests
Step 5 - Mediation
- The purpose is to explore All available options to avoid foreclosure
- If you qualify, mediation may only be requested by your Housing Counselor or an Attorney

- All Borrower(s) on the mortgage
- Mediator(s)—Neutral Third Party
- Legal Representative for bank1 (Lawyer)
- “Decision Maker” for the bank1

Step 6 - What’s Next
- Continue to communicate with your bank1 and Housing Counselor
- Submit/Refresh your documents for assistance
- Prepare yourself for the next “official” notice—The Notice of Trustee's Sale (NOTS)
- Don’t panic if you receive this Notice. There is still time, if you Act Immediately!
Only 20 days to have mediation requested from the recording date of Notice.
Trustee's Sale can occur 120 days from the recording date of this Notice If you fail to respond.
