WHC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Washington corporation. We are community-supported and financed through government grants, corporate contributions, and individual donations. Our sole mission is “to increase and preserve homeownership for low and moderate-income individuals and families.” We provide unbiased, free information regarding the lending and homebuying process, low-income assistance programs, predatory lending prevention, and foreclosure prevention; and we make referrals to appropriate local service providers, lenders, and real estate professionals throughout the state of Washington.
Potential homebuyers can contact us at our free, statewide, and toll-free Homeownership Hotline by calling (866) 600-6466. Potential first-time buyers will receive guidance, referrals, and our First-Time Homebuyers Guide which includes:

- Mortgage programs and products for first-time homebuyers
- Down payment / purchase assistance for eligible first-time borrowers
- Default / foreclosure prevention services; Credit repair assistance
- Predatory lending prevention resources

WHC also participates in many special projects and partnerships. One of these is the New Americans Homebuyer Partnership. The Partnership is a collaboration between WHC, the International District Housing Alliance, and El Centro de la Raza to provide limited English speaking immigrants with access to first-time homebuyer education and information. We hold New American homebuyer fairs each year.
