Who We Are

WHC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Washington corporation. We are community-supported and financed through government grants, corporate contributions, and individual donations. Our sole mission is “to increase and preserve homeownership for low and moderate-income individuals and families.” We provide unbiased, free information regarding the lending and homebuying process, low-income assistance programs, predatory lending prevention, and foreclosure prevention; and we make referrals to appropriate local service providers, lenders, and real estate professionals throughout the state of Washington.

Potential homebuyers can contact us at our free, statewide, and toll-free Homeownership Hotline by calling (866) 600-6466. Potential first-time buyers will receive guidance, referrals, and our First-Time Homebuyers Guide which includes:

  • Homebuyer education and counseling programs
  • Mortgage programs and products for first-time homebuyers
  • Down payment / purchase assistance for eligible first-time borrowers
  • Default / foreclosure prevention services; Credit repair assistance
  • Predatory lending prevention resources
