Support Housing Stability in Washington
A Critical Moment for Housing Stability
Washington Homeownership Resource Center (WHRC) faces a financial cliff on July 1st when our government funding expires. Without immediate support, our capacity to serve homeowners and homebuyers will drop by 78% – from nearly 14,000 households annually to just 3,000.
Your Tax-Deductible Gift Makes a Difference
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating Washington’s official homeownership hotline since 1995, your donation directly helps Washingtonians stay in their homes and achieve their homeownership goals.
For every $30 you give we can help a Washington household access vital, personalized education and resources to achieve homeownership or avoid foreclosure.
Why Your Support Matters Now
Since 1995, WHRC has helped over 140,000 Washingtonians with free information and referral services tailored to each household:
- First-time homebuyers seeking education and guidance
- Families facing foreclosure due to job loss or financial hardship
- Seniors needing home repair assistance to safely age in place
- Communities historically excluded from homeownership opportunities
The average mortgage payment for homeowners we help is $1,100 – far less than Washington’s average rent of $1,786. Preventing foreclosure is preventing homelessness.

I wanted to take time to express my gratitude for his support and kindness and also thanking you for hiring a great team that knows how to work with people such as myself. Daniel is a great employee and a wonderful human being that made my difficult situation more manageable with his professional attitude, especially when it came to my health. – WHRC Hotline Caller, Vancouver, WA

I had the pleasure of talking to Daniel when I called the Washington State Homeownership Resource Center today. He was kind, easy to talk to, very clear in his response to my questions and he made me feel seen! He really worked hard to help me and I am really grateful. I wish more people were as nice to talk to on the phone as Daniel, when I'm looking for help or answers!WHRC Hotline Caller, Maple Valley, WA
