Property Tax Exemption and Deferral Programs
Washington state offers several property tax exemption and deferral programs to assist seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income homeowners, primarily managed by county assessors and the Department of Revenue. Programs include senior/disabled exemptions, limited income deferrals, and special assistance for widows/widowers of veterans.

The Department of Revenue does not maintain individual property tax records for taxpayers. You need to contact your local County Treasurers office to inform them of changes that should be made to your tax records.

Beginning in 2027, the income thresholds will change, and more households may qualify for the exemption than in prior years. Here are the income thresholds for 2027-2029:
